Brother Bennie McKissick, age 95, of Goodwin, Arkansas, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Brother Bennie McKissick was born March 1, 1918, in Hillsboro, Georgia. He was the son of Hardy and Lila McKissick. Brother McKissick was a farmer and a member of Goodwin Church of God in Christ. Brother McKissick married C.V. Gilleylen- McKissick who preceded him in death but leaves to cherish many memories; his children, Juanita Anderson of Orlando, Florida; Eva (Robert) Leniear of Detroit, Michigan; Willie M. (Charles) Seward of Sherwood, Arkansas; Earlene (Douglass) Smith of Forrest City, Arkansas; Leonard (Shirley) McKissick of Palestine, Arkansas and Ray McKissick of Forrest City, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Mamie L. McKissick of Forrest City, Arkansas; twenty two grandchildren; thirty six great-grandchildren; a beloved godson, Doug Peacock; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Brother McKissick was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bennie McKissick, Jr.; one daughter, Helen McKissick Moore. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 12 p.m. at the Goodwin Church of God in Christ in Goodwin, Arkansas with Elder Wendell T. Anderson eulogizing. Burial will follow at Goodwin Memorial Gardens in Goodwin, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at Goodwin Church of God in Christ.
