J.D. Holland

J.D. Holland of Leola, Arkansas was born October 14, 1915 in Cabot, Arkansas the son of the late Clarence and Mary Granberry Holland. He was a member of Leola Faith Assembly of God Church since 1946 having served as a deacon for years. He loved God and his family and had a strong work ethic and always tried to do the right thing. He was the oldest citizen in Leola until his death. Mr. Holland died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Arbor Oaks Healthcare and Rehab in Malvern at the age of 98. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Simmons Holland, and 2 grandsons, Jake Hogg and Nick Hogg. Survivors, son, Dan and wife Mayetta Holland of Leola; daughters, Ann and husband Rick Sluder of Granbury, Texas; June and husband Marvin Hogg of Poyen; Brenda Harrington of Malvern; brother, Bill and wife Nelda Holland of Fairfield, California; grandchildren, Shanna and Casey Lamb, Dana and J.J. Harrington, Candi and Mike Smith, Chris and Brandy Caywood, Cash and Debra Caywood, Craig Caywood, Clay and Jessica Hogg, Holli and Patrick Minton and Robin Ross and 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Leola Faith Assembly of God Church with Bro. Pete Elliott and Bro. Keith Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery.
