Minter Frank Appleberry

Minter Frank Appleberry, 79, of McGehee, Ark. died November 21, 2013. Minter was born in Florence, AR on October 12, 1934 to the late Jesse Lee and Minnie Lee Hays Appleberry. He graduated from Tillar High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1955 and a Master's degree in 1968. He worked for the University of Arkansas Extension Service for 17 years and then began farming full-time in 1971. Minter was an avid deer hunter and also enjoyed quail hunting. He especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren hunting. He was a member of Tillar United Methodist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hardy Lee Appleberry and great-grandson Ridley Morris. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jean Hogue Appleberry; son, Frank (Judy) Appleberry of Tillar, Ark.; daughter, Patty (Phillip) Morris of Tillar, Ark.; sister, Glenda (Eustis) Austin of McGehee, Ark.; grandchildren, Jacob (Carrie) Appleberry, Kinnsey Appleberry, Jessica Morris, Chad (Kelsie) Morris; great-grandchild, Anistyn Morris. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Tillar Cemetery with Rev. Tandy Hanson and Rev. Buddy Ratliff officiating.
