CORINNE J. WHILLOCK GEORGE of Little Rock, Ark. went to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2013. She was born Dec. 16, 1917 in Searcy County close to Marshall, Ark. to Jacob Shem and Ethel Gray Whillock. Corinne was the youngest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin George Sr. and her son, Marvin George Jr.; three brothers, Sam, Polk and Bill Whillock and three sisters, Kate Willcox, Carrie Robertson and Ruby Williams. She is survived by three nieces and two nephews, and a whole host of other relatives. She had many friends that she loved dearly including Alice and John and from Shepherd's Cove, Clyde, Patti, Berneice and Enid. Her personal mission was to prepare soup and cornbread for any individual at Shepherd's Cove that happened to get sick. She was loved and will be missed by her friends and family. She met her soldier husband of over 50 years on a bus ride to her home from Jacksonville Air Force Base. She had moved there to try to do her part during WWII. They were married Dec. 12, 1942. She worked at the Library at the University of Arkansas Medical Center for 27 years. She retired from the Baptist Hospital Library in 1997. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and was Grand Warden in 1996. She visited most every chapter in Arkansas. Corinne was a devoted member of the Geyer Springs United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the food pantry of Geyer Springs United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Geyer Springs United Methodist Church.
