David Allen Rodney

David Allen Rodney, age 69, of St. Charles, died Nov. 19, 2013. He was born July 11, 1944 in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Haldane and Edna Rodney. His early childhood was spent in Arkansas. He attended Jr. High and High School in Poplar Bluff, Mo. After graduating from High School, he served in the US Army in Vietnam until 1967. He worked at Burgess Norton for 32 years. He married his wife, Marietta in 1968, and they made their home in St. Charles where they raised their four children. He is survived by his wife, Marietta; daughter, Wilma; son, Richard; daughter, Sheila; and daughter, Sandra; his brothers, Jim (Georgia) Rodney, Harold Rodney; sister, Ruth Ann (Laron) Riggs; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rosemary Saylors, Hazel Thompson; brothers, Charles Rodney and Richard Rodney. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor, to a local VA Hospital, America Cancer Society, or Fisher House.
