Frances Compton

Frances Compton, 84, of Nashville, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 in Nashville. Mrs. Compton was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Magnolia, Ark. the daughter of the late King and Vollie Hooker Rankin. She was a homemaker and had worked at Warwick Electronics in Forrest City and in child care at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Survivors include her son, John David Compton of Nashville; her sister, June Ellen of Texarkana; and numerous relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Compton; her parents, King and Vollie Rankin; a brother, Bill Rankin; and sisters, Johnnie Ashenhart and Bennie McCune. Private graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Restland Memorial Park, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
