Mary Sue Buchanan

MARY SUE BUCHANAN left us to join her mother, father, son Charlie, grandson Ryan and daughter Linda. Mary Sue was the first of four children born to Lila Belle and James Dickson of Hunter, Ark. She graduated from Brinkley High School in 1957 and moved to Little Rock to pursue a career in business. She later married Charles E. Rogers and the couple had five children. Her sixth child was born during her marriage to Donald E. Buchanan Sr. Mary Sue loved gardening, plants and flowers. She worked for Marriott for a number of years. Some of her favorite recording artists were Elvis, The Oakridge Boys, Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Little Rock. She is survived by her three siblings, Ludean Casebier of Hot Springs, Ark., Jimmie Stone of Arkadelphia, Ark. and Olen B. Dickson of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; four children, Steven Rogers of Syracuse, Utah, Debbie (Rogers) Fletcher, Ruthie Rogers Pagan, and Donald E. Buchanan Jr. of Sherwood, Ark. Mary Sue is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25 at Arkansas Funeral Care. Funeral services wil be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment immediately follows at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116.
