Betty Trammell Workman

Betty Trammell Workman, 86 of Monticello passed away Monday, November 25 at Belleview Nursing and Rehab in Monticello. She was born January 14, 1927 to the late Monroe and Jessie Shook Trammell. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Leroy Trammell and one sister, Francis Tyrrell; two grandchildren, Melanie Dickerson and Robert Strickland and one great-grandson, Keith Trantham. Betty was retired from Burlington and was a Charter Member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, serving Him faithfully in her church and in her daily walk through life. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. Survivors include one son, Charles Cunningham and wife, Shirley of Monticello; three daughters, Wanda Hayes of Little Rock, Debra Vail and husband, James of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Barbara Parnell and husband, Raymond of Monticello; fourteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, one niece and other relatives and friends. She was also Grandma Betty to three generations of children in Drew County and Southeast Arkansas. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Friday, November 29 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Zan Pierce and Rev. Joey Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
