Al Sweaney

Al Sweaney, Jr., 92, of Cabot died Monday, November 25, 2013. He was born March 15, 1921 in Canton, Mississippi to the late Adam Sweaney, Sr. and Pearl Bruce Sweaney Moore. Mr. Sweaney served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He fought in the invasion of Normandy, France and also in the Battle of the Bulge. After leaving the Army, Mr. Sweaney worked as a plasterer and a contractor. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sweaney was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sweaney. Mr. Sweaney is survived by his daughter, Brenda Walton and her husband, Bob, of Little Rock; his grandsons, Chris Walton and his wife, Kathryn, and Jason Walton as well as his great granddaughters, Abby and Emma Walton. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at Old Austin Cemetery.
