Larry Joe Young

LARRY JOE YOUNG went to be with his heavenly Father on Oct. 2, 2013 at the age of 65. He was born Feb. 19, 1948 in Pine Bluff, Ark. to Logan B. Young and Altha Terry-Young. He was a devoted husband to Jane Young for over 38 years. Larry Joe is survived by one brother, Terry Daniel Young (Shelby) of Little Rock, Ark. Larry is also survived by four children, Jason (Dawn) Young of Ward, Ark.; Amanda Sobczak of Cabot; Carrie Young of Sherwood; and Michael Andrew Young of Sherwood. Larry Joe was dearly loved by his grandchildren, Haley Sobczak, Justin Sobczak, Cayla Sobczak and Abby Young. Larry worked for the Arkansas State Police for over seven years and was assigned to the Governor's security detail. He loved his job and co-workers; he considered them part of his family. Larry's laughter and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. Larry was blessed by lifelong friends that shared many precious memories. A special thanks to Robert Murphy, Kathy and Raymond Burke, and Philip Neice Lamb. Family visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 6 from 2-4 p.m. at Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville.
