Rick Spear, 50, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. He was born in Conway, Ark. on Aug. 19, 1963 to Bob and Maydean Spear. Rick Spear was a large man with an even bigger heart. Rick was kind and selfless and he loved his wife and family, working hard to provide for them. He loved watching Lakyn and Zane ride four wheelers and play sports. Rick also loved to tell stories and might have even elaborated the truth a little. Rick married his wife, Carrie, seven years ago and welcomed her children into his family with open arms. Those who knew Rick and Carrie know that they had a special kind of love that many people never find. Their happiness grew when grandkids came into the picture and Rick talked about them often. He is preceded in death by his father, Bob Spear, of Greenbrier. Survivors include his wife and the light of his life, Carrie Spear; his mother, Maydean Spear; his brother, David (Bettie) Spear; his sister, Debbie (Wade) Lipscomb; daughter, Lakyn (Steven) Chong; son, Zane Spear; step-son, Chris (Sara) Porterfield; step-son, Nick (Cassie) Porterfield; step-daughter, Carlie Porterfield; grandsons, Eli and Zeke Chong; granddaughter, Tenley Porterfield; many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Rick Spear will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Life Song Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Online guest book: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
