Drexel Ray Brown, 87, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013. He was born in Pleasant Ridge, Ark. to the late W.E. and Zora Estes Brown. Drexel was an avid crappie fisherman who also loved to garden. He was a truck driver for SFA for 28 years, and he served in Korea for the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kevin Ray Brown; and a sister, JoAnn Yancey of Steelville, Mo. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Nivens Brown; five sisters: Lola Brown of Camino, Calif., Ima Moss (Herbert) of Oxford, Ark., Johniece Merwin of Denver, Colo., Sharon Watson (Lee) of Melbourne, Ark., and Linda Hutchins of Hot Springs, Ark.; five brothers, Glenn Brown of Mountain Home, Ark., Bill Brown (Mary Sue) of Beebe, Ark., Norman Brown (Barbara) of Greenbrier, Ark., Anthony Brown (Sharilu) of Mountain Home, Ark., and Larry Brown (Donna) of Salem, Ark.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends and neighbors who were so important in his life. The family wishes to thank the staff at Saline Memorial Hospital Inpatient Hospice for their extraordinary care.
