Frank Alfred Arnone was born on August 26, 1934 to Frances and Michael Arnone at Kansas City Missouri. He passed away to join those who went before him on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his mother Frances and his father Michael Arnone of Kansas City and his beloved son John Fitzgerald Arnone of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Rita A. Arnone of Maumelle; his daughters Sharon E. Arnone-Wheat of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Patricia A. Carbaugh of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Michele L. Arnone of Maumelle; his grandchildren Michael, Mikaela, John Mark and David Paul Carbaugh of Gulf Breeze and Rory F. Arnone-Wheat of Idaho Falls. After graduating with honors from the University of Missouri in 1954 with degrees in Journalism and Advertising he spent the next four years in the military. He was honorably discharged from The United States Air Force with the rank of Lieutenant Captain in 1959. Frank spent the next 40 years in the retail industry starting as Assistant to the President of Pecks Department Stores at Kansas City, Missouri and finishing that career as a Vice President of Dillard's Department Stores at Little Rock, Arkansas. After a successful business management career he worked as the Administrative Assistant for Christ The King Catholic Church at Little Rock. Frank retired to Maumelle, Arkansas in 2001, where he attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Throughout his business career Frank was the recipient of many honors and awards for his superior achievements. More importantly during his career and on into his retirement he received many cards and letters of thanks and appreciation that gave witness to a very personal and quiet practice of Christian living. Frank was know by all who knew him to hand out prayer cards to every person he met. The following is his favorite: May God grant that your life be a happy one. Not by shielding you from all sorrow and pain, but by strengthening you to bear it, if it comes. Not by making your path easy, but by making you sturdy enough to travel any path. Not by taking hardship from you, but by taking all cowardice and fear from your heart. Not by granting you unbroken sunshine, but by keeping your face bright even in the shadows. Not by making your life always pleasant, but by showing you where persons and causes need you most and by making you anxious to be there and to help. Visitation will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2013, with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at Marche' with Father Hart as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Little Rock, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. 501-661-9111. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to St. Vincent's CCU, Hospice and the Lakes at Maumelle, for extraordinary loving care and kindness shown during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 7025 Jasna Gora, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.
