Mary Cook, 79, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord October 16, 2013. She was born September 16, 1934 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. George J. and Fannie B. Sanders, brother Bill "Beano" Dean Sanders, granddaughter Roxanne Short and nephew Don Sanders. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years Dewey Eugene Cook; children Tara Cook Flock, Brad (Dana) Cook, Wade (Carol) Cook and Tracy (Greg) Ketzer; three brothers, Bucky (Frankie) Sanders, Jimmy (Linda) Sanders and Herschel (Wanda) Sanders; sister-in-law Judy Sanders (wife of Bill); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived by and missed by a host of family members in Christ who loved her dearly, and her aunt and best friend, Mrs. Judy Glidewell. Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister, niece, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a dear friend to a vast number of people. She had a tremendous love for her personal savior, Jesus Christ and members of the body of Christ. Her favorite activity was to be in service with God's people. Mary was co-owner of Dewey Cook Scrap Iron & Metal with husband Eugene. One of her proudest accomplishments was working in the establishment of Millcreek Ministries in Hot Springs. She worked diligently to support God's work not just in her own home, but around the world. She loved cooking delicious meals for family in her home and cooking and delivering meals for those in need. She was always giving of herself for others especially through her God given talent of music. Over the course of her life, she wrote many songs of inspiration by the Spirit of God. She ministered to families who have lost loved ones by singing at funerals and visiting the sick in the hospital. Everyone who knew her has been blessed many times by these songs and talents. Mary had a special gift of leading a congregation into a spirit of praise. Regardless of the situation, Mary always had a wise and uplifting word for those who needed it. She lived to bless others in any way she could. It is truly not enough to say that she will be missed. Honorary pallbearers include Sammy Short, Larry Alman, Charles Alman, Lee Ronnell, Mike Ronnell and Steve Ronnell. Visitation will be from 5-7: p.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10: a.m. Saturday at First Pentecostal Church with Rev. Van Glidewell, Rev. Herschel Sanders and Rev. Greg Ketzer officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Donations in her honor may be made to Arkansas Hospice Inpatient Center, 300 Werner St. Hot Springs, AR. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com.
