Ralph Hickey

Ralph Hickey, 79, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. The son of Noel and Lois Hickey, he was born December 5, 1933 in Bullfrog Valley. He married Barbara Tackett, on February 8, 1958 at Dover. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Ralph worked as a salesman for National Life and Accident Insurance Company/American General Insurance for 28 years. He attended the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Dover where he taught Sunday school and played guitar and also attended the Russellville Assembly of God Church where he played guitar. He was a member of the Dover Masonic Lodge #17 where he was a 32nd Degree Mason and past Worshipful Master, Shriners International, Veterans of Foreign Wars and United Commercial Travelers. He enjoyed writing and playing gospel songs on his guitar with his family and volunteering with the Pope County Senior Activity Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Duncan; and two brothers, Carson and John Ed Hickey. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hickey of Russellville; two sons, Nathan Hickey of Hot Springs and Gregory Hickey of Tulsa; sister, Verdell Meadows of Dover; three grandchildren, Aaron Hickey of Tulsa, Chelsey Hickey of Russellville, and April Hickey of Tulsa; two great-grandchildren, Briana Woodard and Bryson Woodard, both of Russellville; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hickey of Tacoma, Wash. and Shirley Hickey of Centerville; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville. Rev Dan Baker and Rev Bud Avants will officiate. Burial will be at McFadden Cemetery in Dover by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. Pallbearers are Leonard Elliot, Larry English, Heady Nezhadpour, Ralph Greer, Ernie Jackson, and Dan Shuffield.
