Walter L. Salyer, 77, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at a local hospital. Walter was born October 12, 1936 to Wishard and Ruby (Hall) Salyer in Salyersville, Kentucky. Walter served in the US Army, he was an avid golfer, he enjoyed poker, cribbage, and he loved the Packers. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife Eva (Riffey) Salyer, and one sister Helen A. Salyer. He is survived by his wife, Carole (Stuhmer) Salyer; kds: Rick (Jodi) Salyer, Cathy (Brad) Willett, Todd, Amy and Craig Stuhmer; grandchildren: Ryan Salyer, Scott Willett, Shawn Willett and Jacob Salyer, one sister, Joan (Jon) Fricker, sister & brother-in-law, Diana & Denny Christensen, brother-in-law, Jeff Craig and niece Lori (Philip) Gargano. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Funeral Service starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 25th at Mountainside Church in Hot Springs Village, Ark. Burial will be at CedarVale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salyer grandchildren college fund at Rick Salyer, 9019 Miriam Dr. Huntersville, N.C. 28078 or to Mountainside Church in Hot Springs Village.
