Lucy Mae Weatherley, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loved ones. Lucy was born March 16, 1927, in Des Arc, Ark. She graduated from Des Arc High School and married Grover Weatherley of Des Arc in 1945 after he returned from World War II. Lucy and Grover had six children: Grover George, Sherman and Peggy were born in Des Arc followed by the births of Donald, Ellen and Sandra after moving to Fort Worth in 1955. Lucy was a longtime member of Longvue Baptist Church and rarely missed a church service. She was famous for her bread pudding that she always made for church suppers. Lucy also loved sharing her homemade jams and jellies with church friends and neighbors. She was an active member of the PTA, and was always there for her friends and neighbors, showering them with cards and flowers on special occasions. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Grover; a son, Grover Jr.; parents, Millard and Winnie Tallent; and grandson, Daniel Bailey. Survivors: sons, Sherman Weatherley of Fort Worth and Donald Weatherley and wife, Lynn, of Weatherford; daughters, Peggy Bailey and husband, Larry, of Godley, Ellen Mathison and husband, Keith, of Arlington and Sandra Parra and husband, Daniel, of Burleson; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
