Glenda Jo Stokes, 63, of Roe passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at her home. She was born May 4, 1950, in Humphrey to John Edward Ellison and Alta Mae Boston Ellison. She was a retired cafeteria worker and was employed at Lennox until her health failed. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Barnett Rose; and a brother, Johnny Ray Ellison. Survivors are her husband, Terry Stokes; sons, Jason Barnett (Dana) of Casscoe, Preston Barnett (Hope) of Stuttgart and Greg Stokes (Shannon) of Casscoe; daughters, Terri Jo Newkirk of Cassoce and DeeAnne Herring (Stephen) of Ulm; nine grandchildren, Jayna and Lauren Barnett, Addison and Colby Barnett, Logan and Anna Grace Stokes, Jenna Newkirk and Cameron and Carter Herring; brothers, Thurman Ellison (Patty) of Quitman and Jesse Ellison (Jean) of Guy; and sisters, Millie Harp (Henry) of England, Debra Hammerly of Stuttgart and Pam Harris of Beebe. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Sam Morgan and Bro. David Inzer, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
