Albert Lee Mason

Albert Lee Mason son of William Thomas (Bud) Mason and Oma (Payton) Scott was born in Tyler, Arkansas on April 11, 1930 and passed away peacefully in North Little Rock, Arkansas on September 7, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Mr. Mason had a number of occupations in his lifetime but his primary occupation was truck driver. He was born and raised in Wilburn but lived his later life in Sherwood, Arkansas. His religious belief was Baptist and he enjoyed going to the horse races and gardening. He was a good father with a great sense of humor and tried to live his life by giving the other person "the long end of the stick". He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Mason who died when Albert was two years old. He was also preceded in death by his mother Oma L. (Payton) Scott whom he loved dearly and the father who raised him, Sherman L. Scott. He was the father and mentor to his two sons, Bruce Mason and wife Karen and Gary Mason and wife Carlene all of Sherwood. He is also survived by a sister and two brothers, Wilma Murphree and husband Ray of Rose Bud, B.L. Scott and wife Linda of Heber Springs and Sonny Scott and wife Martha of Sherwood, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Family Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 beginning at 12 noon and funeral Services will be in the Family Funeral Service Chapel at 2 p.m. with interment in Center Chapel Cemetery near Wilburn. Officiating will be Rev. Samuel Wildman and pallbearers will be nephews.
