Edward Christian (E.C.) Burnett Jr.

Edward Christian Burnett Jr., 95, of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 9, 2013. He was a Army veteran stationed in Alaska and Pearl Harbor, a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hazen and a retired farmer. E.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Christian Sr. and Etta Burnett; two brothers, Otha and Ervin Burnett; sisters, Clarice Hanks, Grace Johnson, Lucille Carter and Erna Branch and his wife of 50 years, Colleen Moore Burnett. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Mary Yvonne Burnett; her sons, Gary, Kenneth, and Billy Gene Skillern and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him and whom he loved. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hazen. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Center Point Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to the Center Point Cemetery. Arrangements are by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.
