Elijah Hudson Jones Jr., known to his friends as "Hud," peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Hospice Center at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. Hudson, a 1967 graduate of Ozark High School, had spent his life as an Executive Chef, who had the privilege to cook for President Clinton, George Straight, Dolly Parton, and many other notables, and was recognized for his graceful ice carvings and many original recipes. He was a loving father, grandfather and great granddad, as well as a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church. Hudson was passionate about football, fishing, cooking for others, and music of all kinds. His fun loving personality and quick wit brought joy and laughter to many. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Jones Cagle and husband, Brian, of Ozark, and Sara Jones of North Little Rock; mother, Melba Jones Beel (formerly of Ozark) of Baton Rouge; sisters, Pat "Prissy" Wattam and husband, Roger of Baton Rouge, and Phoebe Jones of Lonoke; grandchildren, Justin Franklin and wife, Miranda, of Ft Smith, and Marlee and Kaylee Cagle of Ozark; great grandchildren Clay Hudson, Alayah, and Madden Franklin of Ft. Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Hudson "Wimpy" Jones. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church in Ozark.
