Melvin "Dick" Preston

Melvin "Dick" Preston, 65, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away Tuesday September 10, 2013. He was born in 1948 to Delphia Canard and Melvin Preston Sr. in Newport, Arkansas. He worked for the United States Post Office for over 30 years. He enjoyed many years coaching baseball at the Boys and Girls Club and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Harriet Preston; three children, Allison Divine (Kevin) of Pearcy, Arkansas, Alexandria Preston of Hot Springs, and Matt Preston of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, Malik and Darell Smith, Jayden and Ty Preston, Maddie and Amos Divine. A special thanks to the staff of Mercy's ICU, Arkansas Hospice, and Genesis Cancer Center. A memorial visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
