Eugenia Cranford Show Hampton, 91, passed away Sept. 12, 2013. She was born in Nashville, Ark., on Dec. 31, 1921, to Thomas Fuller and Pearl Hale Cranford. Eugenia graduated from Nashville High School in 1939. In 1941, she went to work for the United States Stock Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., and later worked for them in Philadelphia, Pa., and Fort Worth, Texas. She joined the United States Navy in 1943, and served in the Navy Public Relations offices in Dallas, Texas, and New Orleans, La. She was proud to have been a Navy Wave. Following her service to her country, she graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1950 with a degree in Journalism. In December of 1950, she married Hugh E. Show in Nashville, Ark. Later they lived in Pine Bluff, Ark., Alexandria, La., and DeWitt, Ark. She was a member of the Washington Post DAR and the First United Methodist Church of DeWitt. Eugenia is survived by three children, Hugh E. Show Jr. (Ann) of Levittown, N.Y., Thomas Show (Margie) of Little Rock, Ark., and Betsy Broussard (Drew) of Yardley, Pa. Her grandchildren are Emily Broussard Brooks (Andrew) of Houston, Texas, Erin and Annelise Broussard of Yardley, Pa., and Robin Show of Little Rock, Ark. She is also survived by a special caregiver, Katrina Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Zachary Show; and four siblings. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 1 to 2. Burial will follow in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Pine Bluff by Essex Funeral Home.
