Lee JR Denney, 84 years of age, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 15, 2013 after a year long battle with cancer. He retired as Master Sergeant after a 20 year career in the Air Force, during which he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He also retired with over 20 years of service to Dow Chemical in Pierre Part, Louisiana. He became a resident of Crossett, Ark. in 1988 when he and his wife, Bobbie Denney, came to Crossett to be with their children and grandchildren. In addition to all of his children and grandchildren, he had a passion for old cars (and trucks!), gardening, and loved the time he spent traveling the world during his lifetime. He will be greatly missed by his family but leaves a legacy of love for those left behind. He is survived by his wife, Fannie Denney, four children, Debbie Cossey of Crossett, Ark.; Sandy Dean of Nashville, Tenn.; Karen Bunch of Russellville, Ark.; Frederick Lee Denney of Fort Smith, Ark.; one brother, Herbert Denney of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Lucille Karr of Atlanta, Ga. and Pauline Clausen of Cartersville, Ga. Grandchildren include Becky Landry of Donaldsonville, La.; Tonya Dean of St. Louis, Mo.; Roxie Orr of Jacksonville, Ark.; Hannah McAleer of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; Josh Cossey of McGehee, Ark.; Wesley Godfrey of Russellville, Ark.; Daniel Denney of Fort Smith, Ark.; Neiha Denney of Fort Smith, Ark.; and Neika Denney of Fort Smith, Ark. Great-grandchildren include Quint Landry, JD Landry, Reace Landry, Aryee Landry, Annalee Landry, Sela Orr, Caleb Cossey, and Elijah Cossey. Services will be held at North Crossett First Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 12 noon with Pastor Robin Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Rolfe Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com). Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-9 .m. at the funeral home.
