Funeral services for Mr. W.R. "Buddy" Phillips, age 86, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Gray and Bro. Zach Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, La. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Phillips was born on September 11, 1927 in Village, Ark. to Artie Thomas and Annie Duncan Phillips and died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his home in Springhill. He had been a resident of Springhill since 1986, was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Shell Oil Company. He was a Mason and Shriner and a member of the Al Bedoo F&AM in Billings, Montana and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Turk Phillips on October 22, 1998; by his parents; and son, Tommy Joe Phillips on January 30, 1997. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Maxine Rhodes Phillips; sons, Kenneth Phillips and wife, Dale of Converse, LA; Steven Phillips of Springhill, La.; granddaughter, Ginny Canterbury; great-grandchildren, Ginger and Brice; step-son, Joe Shaff and wife, Earline of Greencastle, Ind.; step-daughters, Vicki Wright and husband, Gary of Cabot, AR; Kathy Tiseldorf of Benton, Ark.
