Mada Floyd

Mada Jeanne McKnight Floyd, 82 of Forrest City, Arkansas died September 19, 2013; she was born August 18, 1931 in Van Buren County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Andrew Franklin McKnight and Ester Rose French McKnight. Mrs. Floyd a retired school teacher and Librarian employed by the Forrest City School District for 25 years, she received her Master's degree at the age of 60 from UCA. Also a member of the First Baptist Church, Forrest City, served as past president of the Jaycettes, Order of Eastern Star and Junior Auxiliary. Mrs. Floyd was an avid shopper and bridge player. Mrs. Floyd's husband, Tom Floyd, son, Tommy Floyd; sister, Lee Gates and a grandson, Darrin Johnson preceded her in death. Survivors are her son, Terry Floyd of Little Rock, Arkansas and daughter, Tracey Finch of Dumas, Arkansas; a brother, Hugh McKnight of Little Rock, Arkansas, five grandchildren, Jessica and Emily Finch, Maggie and Lily Floyd, and four great-grandchildren, Holly, Jake, Gabe, and Taylor. Funeral service held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 graveside at Pine Crest Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Floyd may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Arkansas. Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, Arkansas.
