Gladys W. Smith

Gladys W. Smith, 96, of Powhatan, formerly of Grubbs, departed this life Sunday, September 22, 2013. She was born June 7, 1917 to Hardy Flowers and Verna Moore Williams and was a member of Grubbs Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; Henry Smith, parents, son; James Warren Smith, and daughter; Lucy McLaughlin.Her survivors are son; Billy Joe Smith of Memphis, daughter; Ann Smith McAbee of Powhatan, nephew; Rayburn Williams of Newport, niece; Marsha Evins of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, seven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Ballews Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30-1 p.m. Wednesday.
