Michael T. McGuire

Michael T. McGuire passed away Sept. 21, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Born in Waukegan, Ill., March 26, 1943 to William E. and Betty McGuire during WWII, he spent all of his early years in Texarkana, Ark. Mike was a loving father, husband, son, brother and friend of Bill W., who passionately served others, his country and dearly loved God. Following four years of service in the United States Army, Mike completed his B.S. degree in business administration from Henderson State College and commenced a successful 40 year professional career in employee benefit consulting in his adopted state of Texas. Mike is predeceased by his parents, William E. and Betty McGuire and his wife, Kathryn Killebrew McGuire. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Karen Woolpert McGuire; sister, Sissy and brother-in-law, Mac McAllister; brother-in-law, David Woolpert; daughter, Kelly Ann McGuire; daughter, Jill Girouard Young; daughter, Amy Elizabeth and son-in-law, Paul Knutsen; daughter, Kim Denise Girouard; and son, John William (Jay) and daughter-in-law, Anna McGuire; and eight grandchildren. Mike's cremated remains, along with those of his devoted wife, Karen, and their loyal four legged companions, Veronica and Murphy, will ultimately be reunited and scattered at a future private family service.
