Rita G. Prieur

Rita Gerke Prieur, widow of William Allan Prieur, died March 31, 2014. She was born in Little Rock on February 12, 1925, to the late William A & Rosalia Moll Gerke, and was predeceased by two brothers, Fr. Maurus Gerke, O.S.B., Charles F. Gerke, and a sister, Rose Marie Kresse. She is survived by two sons, Felix C. (Chuck) Prieur (LeAnn), and Randall Prieur; two daughters, Denise (Dale) Perrymore and Annette Prieur; one grandson, Christopher Prieur; and two step-grandchildren, Shannon and Ross McCarty. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorris Kresse of North Little Rock and Irene Kordsmeier of Morrilton. She was a member of Holy Souls Church, the Seniors Group, Bridge Group, Altar Society, and was active in a number of church ministries. She took part in Lifequest. She was a stay-at-home Mother, until with 3 children away at college and one in Catholic High School she went to work at Argenia, Inc., Insurance from where she retired in 1988. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Msgr. Allen Trust Fund or Holy Souls Church, 1003 N. Tyler, 72205. Visitation will be Wednesday April 2, 2014, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary service to follow at 7:00p.m., at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th, Little Rock. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 9 a.m., Holy Souls Church with Fr. Erik Pohlmeier as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
