Allen "Groover" Fitzgerald Carpenter, 49, passed from this life on February 25, 2014 in Bangkok Thailand. Formerly of Cabot, he lived in Bangkok since 1986. Allen is survived by his wife Taow and his two sons, Richard Allen and David Alexander Carpenter, which all reside in Bangkok. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eldean Screeton Carpenter and his older brother, Richard Dean Carpenter. His remaining birth family members reside in Arkansas and include his father, Richard Allen, his older sister, Elizabeth Ann, and his two older brothers, Terry Wayne and David Byron Carpenter. Allen was a member of the Cabot High School class of 1984. Allen's love of international culture led him around the world as he traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America during his life. He was gifted with many languages and skills which served him well during his work in education, and the steel and aerospace industries. His brief life can only be justified by the collective experience he had during his time with us. Always happy, with a joke, his loving smile, hug and kiss will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday April 5, 2014 at Moore's Funeral Home, 700 North Second Street, Cabot, Arkansas. The family will receive friends to celebrate his life immediately following the memorial service at 5007 Driskell Drive, Cabot. Directions will be available at the service. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted for his family in Thailand. Please send any sympathy cards or condolences to The Family of Allen Carpenter, 111 N. Devon Sherwood, Ark. 72120.
