Gary Allen Smith

GARY ALLEN SMITH, age 67, of Jacksonville, Ark., passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Little Rock, Ark. Gary was born on Oct. 20, 1946 in Hot Springs, Ark. to parents, Grace Evelyn and James Smith Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Jerry Smith; and sons, Billy Anderson and Jason Smith. Gary married Linda Pope in North Little Rock on Sept. 29, 1972 and was a resident of Jacksonville for 41 years. He served his country in the Army National Guard for 10 years. He worked as a tow truck operator for many years and later worked for Wal-Mart in Jacksonville. Gary was a member of ThatChurch. Most of all, Gary enjoyed spur of the moment trips, amusement parks and spending time with his family. Gary will be remembered by his loving wife, Linda; and their children, Lisa, Tiffany; and grandson, Landon; and a host of friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7 from 2–4 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, Ark. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, April 8 at 2 p.m. with burial immediately following at Concord Cemetery in Furlow, Ark.
