Jamye Snider Crain, 93, of Camden, died Friday morning, April 4, 2014. She was born on April 11, 1920, in Stephens, Ark. She married Wilbur Lee Crain, of Childress, Texas, in 1938. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church where she also volunteered at the Daffodil festival every year. She was a member of several bridge clubs and loved playing dominos. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and guests in her home. Anytime anyone visited, she was always ready for a "tea party" and had something sweet to eat and a cup of coffee on hand. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing with her choral group at local nursing homes. Jamye was very thoughtful and was known for sending single red roses to friends in the community. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Wilbur Lee Crain; her parents, Tip and Esther Cox Snider; and two sisters, Marcille Young and Lerlene Primm. Survivors include three sons, Larry Crain and wife, Martha of Houma, La., Dr. Don Crain and wife, Susanne of Mechanicsville, Va., Steve Crain and wife, Ramona of Camden; one sister, Patricia Snider Haney (J.O.) of Bulverde, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Greg Crain (Shelley) of Houma, La., Renee Crain Geile (Ken) of Ballwin, Mo., Eric Crain (Dee Dee), of Mechanicsville, Va., Alex Crain (Aileen) of Mechanicsville, Va., Jamye Crain Tickle (Todd) of Mechanicsville, Va., Jon Crain (Julie) of Powhatan, Va., Josh Crain (Brandi) of New Kent, Va., Elizabeth Crain Griffin (Tim) of Little Rock, Katherine Crain Vicars (Jason) of Alpharetta, Ga., Austin Crain of Little Rock; and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, April 7, 2014 at Proctor Funeral Home with Dr. Wade Toddy officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery.
