Jack L. Brodie, 90, of Hot Springs, passed on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Memorials: May be made to The Caring Place, 101 Quapaw Avenue Hot Springs, Ark. 71901. He will be cremated and according to his wishes there will be no service. Mr. Brodie was born in Newport, Ark. and was of the Methodist faith. Jack was a veteran, having served 40 months in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-24 bomber. He was a graduate of Little Rock Jr. college and also graduated from SMU in 1951, worked with Rebsamen Insurance, and was the owner of Med-E-Quip now American Homepatient. He was a Rotarian for many years and proud of his Paul Harris Fellowship. Jack cared deeply for and loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was a generous, loving and caring husband, son, father and grandfather. He loved family time on Lake Ouchita, golfing, horse racing, Razorback football and basketball and traveling the USA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brodie; and his brother, Charles Brodie, Jr. Survivors: Jack is survived by his beloved wife Kathryn of 67 years; his son, Jack Brodie, Jr. and wife Judy of Little Rock; his daughter Donna Ledgerwood and husband Clyde of Bedford, Texas; his sister Mary Sue Meyer and her husband Ted of Mabelvale. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lindsey Duke and her husband Graham; Stuart Ledgerwood and his wife Olga and six great-grandchildren, Haley, Gracie, Emmy Jo and Abby Clair Duke and Milana and Myles Brodie Ledgerwood; numerous nephews; and one niece.
