Kathy Lynn (Red) Szabad Carpenter, 53, of Alexander, Arkansas, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Saline Memorial Hospital. Kathy was born July 1, 1960, in Magnolia, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Everett E. and Elizabeth Ann (McGill) Red. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Red; step-son, Heath Carpenter. She was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church. She had operated Pleasant Valley Glass in Little Rock, following her father's death. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and lived for her family. Her personality was like none other. From her loving and caring nature, to her loud laughs and outspoken ways; she touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. She was known by sports announcers at her children's sporting events as the "loudest mother" in the stands. Kathy is survived by her husband, Jack Carpenter of Alexander; sons, Lopaka Szabad and Jared Szabad both of Alexander; daughters, Tiffany Suiaunoa, Genine Szabad-Englebrecht both of Oceanside, California; Desarey Linnan of Maumelle, Arkansas; her sister, Karla Reed of Alexander; a brother, Terry Red of Escondido, California; as well as a number of nephews, nieces and many friends. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Indian Springs Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at 12:30 p.m., in Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home. 501-455-1067.
