George Hillis

George Hillis, age 85, of Bigelow, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. He was born Jan. 19, 1929, to the late Edward E. Hillis and the late Maud "Vanzandt" Hillis. He was a Master Mason member of Masonic Lodge #758 and a member of Perry County Cattleman's Association. He is survived by son, Steve Hillis (Stephanie) of Maumelle; daughter, Janet Hillis (Tommy) of Bigelow; grandchildren, Ryan Hillis, Julie Dobson, Britt Boyette and Seth Nordrum; great-grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Hillis; brother, James H. Hillis of Augusta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Hillis; son, Kenneth Hillis; brother, Earl Edward Hillis; sisters, Inis Underwood and Jessie Parker. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Buddy Wroten officiating. There will be a private burial at a later date.
