Sarah Coleman

Sarah Coleman was born February 12, 1927 in Osceola, Arkansas, the first child of Beulah Bridges and the late Jimmy Tolbert. She attended Dunbar Elementary School in Little Rock, Arkansas and later moved to Chicago, Illinois where she graduated Dusable High School. In addition she extended her education by attending both Wilson Junior College and Kennedy King Jr. College. She was hired by the Federal Reserve Banking System in July of 1962 where she excelled and quickly became a member of its managerial team. She finished her career of 30 years retiring to the homeland of her birth in Arkansas. She leaves behind a loving husband Frank Coleman Sr., and a host of children, relatives and friends. Sarah Coleman was also a recipient of Ebony Magazine's Black Image Award. Memorial services will be 12 noon Friday, April 18, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
