John Samuel Brewton

JOHN SAMUEL BREWTON, 84 of Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Dallas, Texas passed peacefully on April 17, 2014. He was the son of John Samuel and Mattie Brewton. John grew up in Goldonna, La. He began college at Northwestern State University in 1948. His education was interrupted by his service in the army where he served his country in Korea. He returned to Northwestern in 1953, and graduated in 1954 with a degree in elementary education. In the summer of 1954 John began working for Washington National Insurance Company as a salesman and retired in 1987, as the Regional group manager. He then went into business for himself as the Brewton Insurance Agency. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jackie Lucia Brewton; son, Tim (Julie) Brewton; daughter, Gail (David) Williams; grandsons, Gary (Amy) Brewton, John, Jay, and Grant Williams; great-grandsons, Henry, William, and John Brewton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Thomas John Brewton. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road, Plano, Texas.
