Walter Gerald Russenberger

Walter Gerald Russenberger, 73, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014. He was born in Little Rock to Walter and Helen Wright Russenberger. He was former Executive Vice-President and COO of Ben M. Hogan Company, where he worked for 31 years. He then owned Morrilton Fence Company from which he retired in 2006. Gerald was an Eagle Scout, and a member of the East End Masonic Lodge No. 758, Scimitar Shrine Temple and the Royal Order of Jesters Court 12. While living in Little Rock, he attended Fellowship Bible Church where he led the Ozark Conference Common Cause, and was later a Community Group Leader. After moving to Wye Mountain in 2006, he attended Wye Mountain United Methodist Church where he served on the Trustees Board. In 2011, he was appointed to the Equalization Board of Perry County. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, travel, cooking and being with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed his monthly meeting with old friends of the Sweet Home Dinner Club. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jeanne Russenberger; son, Craig Russenberger (Gina), of Bigelow; daughter, Renee Sanders (Keith) of Little Rock; brother, James A. "Jim" Russenberger (Beth) of Little Rock; sister, Susie Russenberger (Mike) of Nashville,Tennessee; mother-in-law, Vivian Fair of Bigelow; and grandchildren, Zack Sanders (Katie) of Conway, Anna and Chloe Sanders of Fayetteville, Ryan Russenberger of Little Rock, and Nick, Luke and Jack Russenberger, all of Bigelow. Visitation will be this evening, Tuesday, April 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Wednesday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Primrose United Methodist Church, 3006 W. Dixon Road, officiated by Rev. Wayne Bell. Interment will follow at Primrose Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ozark Conference Center, 4 Ozark Mountain Rd., Solgohachia, Ark. 72156 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
