Faber Harold Grable, 81, of Bryant was born December 23, 1932 in Guy, Arkansas. Faber passed away on July 25, 2014. He is survived by Sue (Evans) Grable, his wife of 62 years, four children including three daughters: Sheila (Jose) Ortiz of Hesperia, Calif., Becky (Craig) Markward of Gig Harbor, Wash., Beverly (Domingo) Barron of Seattle, Wash and one son, Byron Grable of Tacoma, Wash, eight grandchildren: David (Cynthia) Ortiz, Dwayne (Vanissa) Ortiz, Dianna (Mike) Woodward, Lorie Markward, Kile Markward, Alisha (David) Chou, Rachel Barron, Rebekah Barron and five great grandchildren: Austin Ortiz, Grace Lynn Ortiz, Michael Woodward, Makada Gaxiola and Issiah Barron. Faber is preceded in death by his parents, William Orbra Grable and Arvada (Hendrickson) Grable of Bryant and two brothers, Robert J. (Bob) Grable of Bryant and Billy Grable of Fort Worth, Texas. Faber has three surviving sisters: Wadene Sweeney of Phoenix, Ariz., Anna Helmich of Houston, TX and Janette (Troy) Zuber of Bryant, Ark. Faber retired from federal government service as an Aviation Quality Control Inspector where he oversaw quality inspections for construction of Presidential Air Force One and military aircraft projects. Faber was always eager to help both family and friends. His many acts of caring includes helping his community in disaster relief efforts from recent tornados. Faber loved gospel music and was an accomplished Southern Gospel singer. He was an active member of the Geyer Springs First Baptist Church Choir. One of Faber's favorite and most requested songs was Beulah Land. Although we will miss Faber singing it here, we rejoice in knowing that he is now singing Beulah Land at the feet of Jesus. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 02 at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, 12400 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72210.
