Mark William Weston

Mark William Weston, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away August 3, 2014 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas. Mark was born September 3, 1928 in Independence, Missouri. He grew up helping in his parents nursery and florist shop and fishing with his father. Upon graduation from Raytown High School he entered the University of Missouri-Columbia where he graduated in 1950 with a degree in civil engineering. He worked for one year for the Missouri Highway Department prior to being drafted into the Army. Immediately after completion of basic training, he married his high school sweetheart, Helen Diane Kraus, in 1951. They moved together to Alexandria Virginia where Mark taught engineering at Ft. Belvore. He mustered out of the Army after two years and returned to full time employment with MODOT in Kansas City. After promotions through Kirkwood, Sikeston, and Jefferson City, Mark retired in 1990. He married Doris Carlene Berry Poe in 1985. Doris shared his love of Dixieland Jazz and together traveled in Europe and South America including numerous cruises. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark Williamson Weston and Maureen Cooper Weston, his brother, Norman Leroy, and his two wives. Mark is survived by two sons, Mark and his wife Char and their two children, Maureen and John, all of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Steven of Bryant, Arkansas.
