AGNES CHRISTINE "CHRIS" HUMPHREY, 83, of North Little Rock, Ark. passed away on Aug. 14, 2014.Chris was born in Little Rock, Ark. on Dec. 21, 1930, to the late Martha Maggard and Harry Trager. Chris is preceded in death by her late husband, Ruben Humphrey. Chris was a graduate of Little Rock Central High school and attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany Oklahoma. Chris worked briefly at New York Life and Traveler's Insurance companies and later was a co-owner of Sherwood Mobile Home Park and Fleet Products Company, both in Sherwood, Ark. Chris was a long-time member of Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene in Sherwood, where she taught Sunday school for many years, served as delegate to district conventions, and gave her time for many church activities over the years. Chris enjoyed singing, sewing, spending time with family, trying to create the perfect pecan pie, working with arts and crafts, and most of all having a good laugh. Chris is survived by two sisters, Mary Louise Chittenden of Benton, and Vinita Wood and husband Elmer of Benton; two sons, Dale Humphrey and wife Gina of North Little Rock, David Humphrey and wife Laura of Little Rock; and many more friends and family who will miss her love, her smiles, and her infectious silliness. Her loving spirit and sense of humor were a joy to her church, her family, and all who knew her. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the congregation at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene and to the kind and patient staff at Elmcroft Maumelle and Gentiva Hospice Services for their care and comfort. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 17, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400).
