Irby Ray Hall, born Nov. 4, 1931 in Yell County to James Carroll (Jim) and Norma Green Hall, passed away at Conway Regional Medical Center on Aug. 16, 2014. He was a member of Second Baptist in Conway, Ark. Irby was a 1951 graduate of Dumas High School and served in the U. S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 in the Korean Conflict. He attended the University of Houston from 1956 to 1961 then began his career with United Dollar Stores In Dumas, Ark. Upon leaving United Dollar Stores he moved to Conway where he remained until his death. Irby was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Michael Hall; and sister, Doris O'Rear. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dena "Modena" Hall; sister, Grace Reed; and brothers, Royce Carroll Hall and Dale Hall. Also surviving are: son, John Milton Hall (Celeste) children, Hunter & Rebecca; daughter, Shelly Rae Daws; son, Michael Myrick, children, Rachel Vinson, Jessica Sims and Jonathan Hall; daughter, Lynnette Rook (Bob), children, Matt Brown, Carter Rook, Katie Hahn, Annie Rook and Taylor Brown; as well as many nieces; nephews; and cousins. The service will be at Griffin-Leggitt Funeral Home on Dave Ward Dr. in Conway at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014. There will be visitation at the home of Mrs. Hall on Tuesday evening.
