Juanita Harper Presson left this life August 17, 2014 after a long battle with dementia. Her friends and family knew her as Poodle. She was born in Whelen Springs, Arkansas, November 20, 1927 to parents, Bryant and Sue Harper. Poodle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved children. She worked in the 2nd Baptist Church nursery in Hot Springs for 13 years and the 1st Baptist Church of Sherwood nursery for over 20 years. She was actively involved in her children's activities, serving as Den Mother when her son was in Cub Scouts and making untold amounts of cookies and cupcakes for various school functions. Their station wagon was always full of kids when the Sylvan Hills Bears played out of town. Poodle graduated from Gurdon High School and attended Henderson State University. She and Bill were long time members of 1st Baptist Church of Sherwood. Poodle was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Billy Michael Presson. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill Presson. They were married on January 31, 1948. She is also survived by two daughters, Sharon Presson Clark of Arkadelphia and Jan Presson Johnston of Heber Springs. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Presson, Matt Presson, Marshall Presson, Josh Johnston and Kevin Clark. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Rest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock beginning at 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Rest Hills Chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Arkansas Hospice, First Baptist Church of Sherwood, or the Alzheimer's Association.
