Ruth Olive Stever Trotter

Ruth Olive Stever Trotter, 97 of Crossett passed away Aug. 21, 2014 at Stonegate Villa Nursing Home in Crossett. She was born Aug. 16, 1917 to the late Earnest Ellsworth Stever and Zeppie Pearl Shetterly Stever. She was a retired school cafeteria worker of 23 years with Crossett School System and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Crossett. She always had a smile, a funny joke, a song to sing and a story to tell. She enjoyed all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil (Dock) Trotter; her son, Gary K. Trotter; a brother, James Stever; and sister, Ruby LaGrone. Ruth is survived by three daughters, Dolores Eastwood and her husband Carl of Florence, Wis., Rosemary Fryer and husband Jerry of Crossett, and Bonnie Crain and husband James of Hamburg; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 25 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, Ark., with burial in Campground Cemetery.
