Lawana Jodie Peery

Lawana Jo "Jodie" Peery, age 71 of Little Rock, passed away November 30, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on November 12, 1943 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; she was the daughter of James W. and Mary Jo Taylor. Lawana was a loving and dedicated wife for almost 52 years. She was a special woman who loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren meant everything to her. She had a unique relationship with each one of them. She especially enjoyed cooking big meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a member of East Union Baptist Church and enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband. She is preceded in death by her father, James W. Taylor. Survivors include her husband, William Gene Peery Sr.; mother, Mary Jo Taylor; brother, James Ed Taylor (Jeanette – deceased); sisters, Vickie Taylor and Linda Maxwell (Joey – deceased); sons, Bill Peery (Kathy), Mike Peery (Julie), and John Swilling (Jacqueline); grandchildren, Dylan Peery, Savannah Peery, Paxton Peery, Beckett Swilling, Landon Swilling, and Kennedy Swilling; and her sweet baby puppy, "Sugar", who loved her very much. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at East Union Baptist Church in East End. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in East End.
