Noel Marvin Loftis

Noel Marvin Loftis of Prattsville, Arkansas was born May 31, 1939 at Olton, Texas, the son of the late Everett A. and Myrttie Davis Loftis. He was retired from Reynolds Metals, had served in the National Guard, and also served as Mayor of Prattsville for 16 years. Noel loved living on his farm and raising cattle. Mr. Loftis died Monday, December 1, 2014 at his home, at the age of 75. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Loftis. Survivors include his brothers, Leslie M. Loftis of Prattsville and Merle Loftis of Greenwood; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nellie C. and Dub Henderson, Lenora and Clarence "Poodle" Bennings, all of Prattsville, and Barbara and Doug Walters of Sheridan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom Noel loved dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation is Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
