Glen Alvin McDaniel, 70, of Austin, passed away at home on December 4, 2014. He was born October 6, 1944 in Mountain View, Arkansas to the late Erskin and Lois Watts McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his wife: of 38 years, Sandra Harness McDaniel and brother: Preston. Glen graduated from Marshall High School in 1962. As a young man he served in the Army as an aircraft mechanic in Germany. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from UALR in 1973 and his Masters degree from Harding University in 1985. "Mr. Mac" as he was known by his students was an educator for 22 years. After retiring from Cabot High School he worked for Arkansas Game and Fish in Lonoke for seven years. Glen was busy doing different jobs until he was diagnosed with cancer in June, 2013. He attended First Baptist Church of Ward. Glen loved to travel and made many trips. He is survived by his wife: Dianna of the home, daughter: Ka-Sai (Dewayne) Finley, grandson: Trey, granddaughter: Kelsea all of Cabot, sister: Cheryl (Keith) Barrett, brother: Kenny (Kathy) McDaniel all of Marshall, brother: Cheston McDaniel of Clinton, two step-sons: Craig (Tressa) Hamilton and Clint Hamilton all of Atkins, step-daughter: Cheryl (Billy) Moore of Witts Springs, six step-grandsons and a host of other relatives and good friends. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Funeral Home. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Ward on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment Dunkard (Magness Creek) Cemetery.
