Mescal Oladean Cothran

Mescal Oladean Cothran, 94, formerly of Forrest City, passed away Dec. 6, 2014 at Randolph County Nursing Home, Pocahontas. She was born Jan. 6, 1920 in Hunter, Ark. to Lawrence Martin Guarnett and Ethel Ward Guarnett. Mescal was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Cothran; two brothers, Myron Lawrence Guarnett, Hershell (Jerry) Guarnett and a sister, Junetta Crissman. Mescal is survived by a stepdaughter, Nora Files of Brinkley; a stepson, Richard Myron of Kingman, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Lois Guarnett of Pocahontas, Ark. and several nieces and nephews. Visitation at Fowler Funeral Home, Brinkley from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tues., with graveside service at 2 p.m. at Johnston Cemetery, Wheatley, with Bro. J. T. Medford officiating.
