Gladys "Maurine" Cook, 89, of Mountain Home was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 8, 2014 in North Little Rock. She was born in Garnett, Ark. to the late William W. and Edna Ida Wesson. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Randy Cook; two brothers and two sisters. Her passion was music and art. During the years she sang in the church choir and was a touring member of Sweet Adeline's . She excelled in her artistic talents that included needlepoint, quilting, stained glass, wood carving, ceramic, floral design, and oil painting. Maurine had a special bond with her TOPS friends and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was of the Christian faith having attended First Baptist Church of Sherwood and a present member of First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home. She is survived by her devoted husband, Claude Cook; a stepson, Ron Cook and three daughters, Vicki Griffin (Steve Pollock), Teresa Jernigan (Ira) and Rebecca Renk (James); grandchildren, Shawn Overton (Alisha), Travis Coomes, Melissa Dotterweich, Steven Renk, Brian Renk, and Kenny Cook; and three great-grandchildren. Maurine's family and friends will deeply miss her. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F.
