Jacquelynn Browning Spann, age 88, of little Rock passed over to be with her Lord and Savior on December 6, 2014. She was born May 29, 1926 at Slocomb, Arkansas. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Mabelvale. She graduated from Mabelvale High School in 1942 and attended Draughon School of Business. She graduated from Henderson State Teachers College in 1950 where she worked her way through school at 25 cents per hour. She later received a Master degree in Education from Ouachita Baptist University. She taught school for 1 year in the Sheridan School District at East End, 25 years at Mabelvale Elementary and 5 years at Daisy Bates Elementary in little Rock. She enjoyed quilting, reading and her grandchildren. She is survived by sons Carroll Spann (wife Cathy) and Paul Spann (wife Vivian) and one daughter Birdetta Price (husband Joe) and grandchildren Andrew (wife Eleanor) and Philip (wife Clara) Spann, Brooke, Jodi and Zachary Price, sisters Peggy Delling (husband Don), Azillea St. John and brother Raymond Browning (wife Betty). Her husband, Wallace Spann, predeceased in 1990. She is also predeceased by sisters Reta Jean Godfrey and Neva Jane Duffy. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Brother Robbie Horne officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery on Arch Street.
